Open Message to Governor Newsom: It's a Family Court Crisis

On February 28, Governor Gavin Newsom wrote on Twitter: @GavinNewsom Feb 28: "Another senseless act of gun violence in America - this time in our backyard. In a church with kids inside. Absolutely devastating. Our hearts go out to the victims, their families and their communities. We are working closely with local law enforcement."

Dear Governor Newsom,

This is NOT a gun violence issue.

This is a DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CRISIS.

This is a FAMILY COURT CRISIS.

This was preventable - by focusing on gun violence, it let's politicians keep their hands clean. This is unacceptable.

Amy Hunter's children were murdered in West Sacramento by their abusive father in 2019 - there were no guns involved. It was a revenge killing - it was the ultimate way for him to hurt Amy.

Kathy Sherlock's daughter, Kayden, was murdered - there were no guns involved. He brutally beat her with a 35 lb dumbbell. It was a revenge killing - it was the ultimate way for Kathy's abuser to hurt her.
