Simple Ways to Prioritize Your Physical Wellness When You’re Divorcing a Narcissist

Your physical wellness is extremely important when you’re up against a narcissist in a child custody battle.

A high conflict custody battle can be overwhelming in every single way - and often, our physical health takes a massive hit.

Prioritizing your physical wellness is an absolute must.

Take Simple Steps to Prioritize your Physical Wellness When You’re Divorcing a Narcissist

Our appetites, sleep schedules, and even the way we hydrate our bodies seem to change rapidly when we face the stress of a high conflict custody case. Simple tips to help develop habits for health can include:

  • Setting timers to remind you to drink water

  • Very simple meal prep on Sundays so that you have easy access to at least one full meal a day

  • Setting daily alarms to eat at specific intervals

  • Alleviating the stress around sleep and committing to lying down and resting for a set amount of time each night

  • Taking a multivitamin daily

  • Putting medications and vitamins in an easy-to-see area so that you remember to take them

  • Asking a trusted family or friend to support you as an accountability partner in your health commitments

Visit Your Doctor for Serious Health Concerns

Often, we feel so overwhelmed and busy that scheduling a doctor visit seems like a laughable luxury.

However, remember that this kind of stress can be debilitating to the physical body and survivors of narcissistic abuse may have higher rates of autoimmune diseases and chronic illnesses.

So if you are concerned about your health, please make sure that you schedule a visit with your doctor.
