Serendipity

Serendipity

Serendipity means a “happy accident” or “pleasant surprise”; specifically, the accident of finding something good or useful without looking for it.

I met with someone today who could quite possibly be a real life guardian angel.  I did not go out seeking this person– an ironic chain of events happened that placed him directly in my path.

I made a 30 minute drive today that could change the course of my journey in many ways.  I feel like pinching myself just to be 100% sure that this isn’t a dream.

Today I hired a private investigator.

Not just any private investigator but one with a golden heart.  One who cares and wants to help me.

More importantly, he wants to help me protect my daughters.

Through this process, I have discovered the good side of humanity.  While there have been many horrible things happen over the past few years– there have also been some amazing moments and some people that I will never forget nor will I ever be able to thank enough.

I will finally be able to get to the bottom of many things and I will have a sense of peace– that I will be safer and my daughters will be safer.

***Edited to note:

Several people have sent emails asking “why” are you announcing this publicly (thanks for your concern!)– it will be announced in court on Wednesday and my X and the judge will both be aware that I have retained a Private Investigator.

  1. I’ll second that.

Hopefully he has experience with providing evidence to the courts? The last thing you want is a photo that the court insists is inadmissable because of some sort of bs reason.

Hopefully you’ll be able to sleep better knowing a second person is working to keep an eye on your daughters.

  2. He is the best of the best— I could not have found a more experienced person.

Extensive background in law enforcement and courts would be an understatement. I am incredibly thankful to the person who pointed me in his direction.

  3. I hope that you get all the answers/proof that you need to help keep your daughters safe.
I do have a question though – are you worried about him finding out about your blog and the information that you provide in it? If he were to stubble upon it and see that you’ve gotten a PI, would that make things worse? I am honestly asking out of curiousity so please feel free to tell me to shut my trap!
I do want to say though that I commend you for everything you’re doing and have done. I also really enjoy following your story.

  4. Melissa– I am submitting paperwork to the court Wednesday regarding the PI firm so the judge and my X will both be aware of it anyway. I know it sounds crazy that I’m announcing it publicly but I promise its okay– mainly, I feel a sense of relief and safety knowing he is being watched here and in the Bay area.

Thank you for your kind message– very much 🙂 Tina

  5. I just wanted you to know what an amazing and strong person you must be take this battle on and not give up. I have seen the CA family court system do some unfair things and I am rooting for you and the protection you are seeking for your children, which may set protection for others children as well as a result. Pls remember on your difficult days that you have more support than you know. You are to be celebrated and honored for your perserverance. I am looking forward to hearing how this turns out. Strength and love will conquer 🙂

  6. I have been where you are. The PI I hired what the best investment in my divorce and protecting my child. If it wasn’t for the PI, I think I would still be fighting to illustrate to the court he was drinking, and drinking with my child in the car with him!
